/L:up/
/Lu:p/ is a solo that explores the nature of repetition in contemporary dance in contrast to the habitual pathways that we take in our everyday life. It is interested in how the body is not very adept at repeating itself precisely and tends to lightly retraces patterns that are familiar and efficient. The work considers movement "landmarks" and the space between these "landmarks" and how variations may arise from a lack of attention, balance, speed, a relationship to live or record sound
/Lu:p/ was a part of WAY OUT dance, the premier season of dance @ ALASKA Projects. It toured to Crack Theatre Festival and Short + Sweet Dance where it received the Best Female Performer Award.
The sound is composed and by Djuna Lee.
